Culture Wise Living

By the time I discovered blogs everyone else was already doing podcasts. But as usual, I thought better late than never so I started my own blog to share what I'd learned about intercultural communication over the past years.

It was a short experiment because I realised after a few months that blogging is not for me. I built the site as a free wordpress site. After I learned to code, I wrote the website from scratch so I could host it on GitHub pages: Culture Wise Living. I also decided to sell the domain name.

I practiced:

  • writing in a different style
  • optimizing photographs for websites
  • being comfortable with technology
  • planning content and writing on a schedule
  • HTML, CSS, Bootstrap5

I learned:

  • how to set up a free site on wordpress.com
  • the basics of writing a blog post
  • how to break down complex ideas in my head into post-sized information pieces
  • what SEO is and how to optimize it
  • blogging is not the right content sharing format for me
  • how to close down a wordpress site
  • how to sell a domain name
